I've just noticed that a few of us like The Prisoner.... so let's have a thread about the series My favourite episodes are Once Upon a Time and Hammer Into Anvil (I think I had more but I can't remember at the moment...). I really like the acting in that series, especially Patrick McGoohan and Leo McKern. But they're all very good. Although in some episodes I find it hard to understand what exactly certain things mean or why the characters act the way they do, I quite enjoy The Prisoner

Mr Mcgoohan admitted that his strange "ex-agent on an island" saga, had some uneven pieces to his puzzle that he had created. He originally wanted all of the episodes to interconnect with each other, and that was a tough task. However, I personally enjoyed the outcome of his tv show, even as I watched it as a child.
AGENT #6: "Who is number one ?"
STARBEAST: "You are Patrick. I miss you Mr McGoohan, rest in peace and thank you for sharing your genius, in acting, writing and concept creations. You knew people were watching, and you wanted to entertain them, and you always perfomed like a true professional."

It is a brilliant timeless show. There's so much in it, that after all these years you can stil ponder upon or apply to current situations. Patrick McGoohan was a great actor, and director.

Great interview! He had a very distinctive voice.
I didnt feel robbed when I knew who No.1 is. I actually find it very clever and deep.
Had some trouble identifying some of the interviewees, apart from McGoohan.

In 1967 a t.V. program like no other was shown to an unexpected nation that would make people have to sit and think and decide there own thoughts on a T.V. series like no other .
Counter culture T.V. had arrived .
The Prisoner was concieved by starred Patrick McGoohan .
A sci fi, spy , psychlogical drama and with elements of gadgets that would be used in our every day life today .
With eletronic doors , remote control helicopters , cordless phones ,clones and no cash in Village but units .
The Tally Ho newspaper that is printed in minutes of an interview which is replicates on line news today .
Even Prisoners whole life in pictures that could well have been Instagram in its day .
Set in a village where the residents were abducted and kept where you wouldn`t know who were the prisoners and who are the warders . With the whole village with close circuit T.V. and a guard like no other . A large white balloon that became fondly known as Rover Our protagonist no 6 was each episode was put through a different schemes of trying to break him and conform and for him to extract the information that the top secret agent had resigned and walked away from his job .
With psychological elements . drug inducing and even a body mind swap .
There was nothing like it on t.v. and still holds up today .
With the program even mention that one day the whole world would be a village . They hit the spot and with McGoohan`s answer to the question of who was No. 1 Man`s most biggest threat to mankind . His answer was . Man .
Be seeing you .
