I love that show! Not a recent fan, me, but I do love it! I reckon David T is doing a great doctor! It has nice plots too - i really like the Agatha Christie episode and Tooth and Claw. The last episdoes with Rose, were not very interesting for me, i must say....
So, do we have fans out there?

Yeah I think you are right about the specials. And this year too, the doctor will still be David Tennant. The new doctor, Matt Smith, will take on from early 2010. Octania is a fictional location in The Continuing Story of Albert (the story behind this forum)

[shadow=black,left,300]The 4 Doctors[/shadow] I myself am a big classic DR.WHO fan! TOM BAKER from the television series for me is number one! My second television favorite DR.WHO is JOHN PERTWEE, and my third favorite for the tv DR.WHO is PATRICK TROUGHTON. I don't think too many people will argue, that PETER CUSHING as the fantastic DR.WHO of the big screen was an excellent choice. I really enjoy watching the two movies that were made with Mr.Cushing: DR.WHO AND THE DALEKS (1965) and the great sequel to the magnificant first film DALEKS - INVASION EARTH 2150 A.D. (1966)

Sadly I only watched two Doctors playing in Dr Who - David Tennant and Chrostopher Eccelston. I prefer David T to Chris. I have always wanted to watch an earlier Dr Who, and I see that I can start by watching those two movies you mentioned But I think Tennant is a good Dr Who , and there are some very good episodes too, in the modern days show From what I know, the next (and new) Doctor will be on our screens soon, as Easter is approaching!

The movies are very good and fine classics, I hope you can see them both, as well as the early adventures of Dr. Who.
I started watching the fantastic time-lord since the early eighties, and I was so enchanted by the tv series, that I became a member of a USA fan club. Unfortunately, I've only seen a handful of the latest Dr. Who episodes, since the beginning of this new millenium.

Watched Planet of the Dead, last weekend.
Very nice! The aliens made such cute noises!
It finishes with that woman who ahs visions saying "you be careful Doctor. You will be singing your last song when he knocks 4 times" [or something along those lines]. On some Russian they showed how the Doctor is in the Tardis and someone knocks four times, he opens the door and says "Oh not Daleks again!"
*I might be completely wrong, becuase I am talking from memory*

My philosophy class is doing Time Travel now and on monday was the first class we had about this topic. This is how it went:
The lecture theatre was dark, and slowly the lights came up. Then, we heard the Dr Who theme tune. The lights were completely on and in the side of the class there was a blue phone box that said on it "Police" and it had that blue flashing light. Out of that box came a man dressed up as Tom Baker (with a big black wig and a scarf and a long coat) and he says "I'm your lecturer!!!" And all the rest of the lecture he spoke, and on the screen was a picture of two Dalekses. And the reading for that class was "Who was Dr Who's Father?" [interesting read, I can uploaded it if anyone is interested]
But what a classic lecture was that!!!!!
