[shadow=black,left,300]SUPERHEROS[/shadow] This is a collection of the superheros from comic books to cartoons, I've seen quite a few of them through the years of growing up. They were always on tv in many different forms like silly/funny characters and colorful tights-wearing (with optional capes), dramatic-flared and mask-wearing avengers.
Above you see SPACE GHOST, the space-born hero who popped into television in 1966. The artwork was done by Hanna Barbara comic book style artist ALEX TOTH, and voiced by radio announcer GARY OWENS.
His costume is simple, and he wears push-button power bands on his wrists that can shoot a variety of energy beams like: heat, cold, magnetic, laser, force field etc. Besides being able to become invisible, fly, possessing great strength and having a nearly invulnerable body, he can even withstand the extreme cold and oxygenless void of space.
On his chest is a communicator button which he presses to contact his friends and helpers, the space twins, JAN and JACE. They have an intellegent chimp named BLIP who also joins to help Space Ghost when he calls for urgent assistance.
To travel long distances Space Ghost utilizes his cloakable space ship, the PHANTOM CRUSIER. And the world our group of heros live on is called, the GHOST PLANET.At the beginning, there were only 20 episodes of galactic adventure created, and Space Ghost had a colorful variety of villians like: Zorak, Moltarr, the Creature King, Brak, etc.Space Ghost did return to televison in the 1970's, but the stories and art weren't quite as good as the originals in 1966. Then in the 1990's Space Ghost reappeared on televison as a goofy and silly child-like talk-show host, the program was called SPACE GHOST - COAST to COAST. In this show, he interviewed REAL music, tv and movie celebrities, plus, odd-ball skits were added to make the show really weird. This show lasted a few years, I wasn't a fan of this bizarre talk-show, it seemed to me as a surreal and confused hunk of nonsense. When the weird talk-show left tv (thank goodness), fans wrote to the network and asked for "The New Adventures of Space Ghost" to be made! Nothing was done. However, fans began to push their efforts into creating a serious action/drama comic book series based on this cosmic champion of justice. Even graffic novels featured artwork that mirrored the 1966 cartoon style, which made Space Ghost unique along with colorful looking background. And the fans continued to grow wanting more! The mighty avenger from the Ghost Planet also became a costume of choice by the biggest fans. (below: a fan dresed as Space Ghost with his Phantom Cruiser vehicle)One day hopefully the LIVE-ACTION movie will be made, and the fans will flock to the theater to see SPACE GHOST. Below is SPACE GHOST's original cartoon show opening theme from 1966.

That was a very well written review, Beastie! But, say, can Space Ghost die? (note to self: probably not, as he is already dead)... So he can't be defeated then? As you can see, I never seen this tv programme. I was never into superheros to tell the truth. Perhaps only Ninjah Turtles (or whatever their English name is) but I was a small Honey at the time, and I dont remember them much.

SPACE GHOST INTERVIEW with STARBEAST That was a very well written review, Beastie! Thanks, I've been a fan of Space Ghost since the age of three, I have a good memory of the show. He was one of my heros, and I wanted to become a cartoon artist because of his creator ALEX TOTH. He drew the "white knight of space", and many other superhero types, he had the knack for it.
And as for Space Ghost, he was fun to watch every week. But, say, can Space Ghost die? (note to self: probably not, as he is already dead) ....So he can't be defeated then? He came close to the "icy hand of death", every week, there was always a villain who wanted him dead. He would get captured or forced to surrender himself to save another life by sacrificing his own life. He was a valient soul, and cared about all lifeforms.
So yes, it is possible for him to get killed, or die from a horrible situation a villain has put him in. But with the help of his two best friends and their chimp, they have saved Space Ghost at times.
Villians usually try to disarm him by removing his power-bands, so Space Ghost is forced to fight with his wits and fists. Fortunately he is also very strong and is nearly indestructable, so the villain would resort to using powerful monsters or fantastic technology to destroy him.As you can see, I never seen this tv programme. I was never into superheros to tell the truth. Perhaps only Ninja Turtles (or whatever their English name is) but I was a small Honey at the time, and I dont remember them much. It's understandable, not everybody likes the same things, that's there's the nob on the tv to switch to what you want, or just go outside to play.
It's not like it used to be, long ago cartoons had morals, and showed people helping others. Now it seems to be alot of loud-mouth uncaring "no-it-all" nonsense. And they all want to push the limits of anti-values and grossness.
I don't watch that much tv anymore, even the live-action and reality show sicken me. But there are a few good programs left on tv, but it's our own choice about what we like.

Hello Lady Bunny,
Classic heros of the past always had a large chin or pronounced bottom jaw, and at times they would wear black masks to shield their identities. It has become a common trait for a hero today to have a big jaw, I guess alot of artists like that look.

[shadow=black,left,300]The Art of BATMAN[/shadow] I suppose the newer generations see Batman with curves as apposed to the more defined lines of the comic book artwork. I do like some of the new Batman cartoons, they're interesting and the stories aren't kiddish. But I'm not too fond of his cartoony look, yet I understand that it's easier to draw for a cartoon show. When Batman first appeared decades ago, the art of comic books were something new, and he was simple to draw. Today, many different artists try their best to capture the look of this gothic superhero, known as BATMAN

I just saw it yesterday (it's TRUE), I was surprized how violent and disturbing it was. I thought, oh man, kids are watching this, yikes! I like the story, but the movie company should have trimmed the violence down for the theater.

^ What a coincidence! Yea... but I expected it to be quite violent. What happened to Aaron Echart's character.... that was.... *shudder* not for my eyes, put it this way I couldnt understand Christian Bale when he was Batman!

BATMAN has evolved from comic bookish, to graphic fiction, as I see it, my curious rabbit friend.

That animation is quite funny particularly becuase I have APP's I Robot in the background. Seems like Batman is dancing to it! That's a nice statment "from comic bookish, to graphic fiction" .... And I agree with it, I think . Not that I am very much into Batman (then and now, for that matter) Your curious rabbit friend! Is that me? !!!!

I thought that the dancing BATMAN was funny too, BATMAN has traveled a strange road, that led to many different paths.
Curious Rabbit, well, you said "honey" meant someone who asks questions, and "bunny", to me, means rabbit. If my interpetation of "bunny" is incorrect, please enlighten me.
