[shadow=black,left,300]RAIDERS of the LOST ARK[/shadow] Producer Steven Speilberg and Director George Lucus joined forces to create the fantastic adventures of an archeologist named Dr. Henry Jones II, who was played by Harrison ford. Originally this made was made as a homage to the "cliffhanger" serials of decades past. After it's release, fans wanted more of this two-fisted, whip-wielding, relic-hunter, so over the years, three more movie sequels were made.
This film was quite an inspiration for other film makers, who also wanted to recreate their own versions of this action hero. But those films fell short of the magic that George and Steven cast into stone.
Recently a fourth movie was made, INDIANA JONES and the KINGDOM of the CRYSTAL SKULL, after it's release in 2008, it recieved mixed reviews. A good size portion of the viewers were a new generation, who didn't see the earlier films or know anything about the character Indiana Jones. However, most of the original fans of the first three films, embraced the fouth movie with only a little bit of criticism.
Today, a great deal of the newer fans of the first movie are children, who've been enlightened by their parents, that want their kids to see this movie. The parents who were enchanted by the first film, hope their children will be delighted, and capture the magic that made RAIDERS of the LOST ARK, the incredible movie that it still is.(the ARK, a replica that was used in the movie, based off the real ARK which was said to keep the TEN COMMANDMENTS; the whereabouts of this piece of history is unknown)

Ah but's that not fair because when I posted, there was only a picture - no writing. You edited your first post, am I right? As for Inidana Jones... I think I saw the last bit of one of the movies. I never got into it.

You posted before I had I chance to finish setting up the thread. It was late, and I wanted to at least get Godzilla and Raiders started. Sorry if it seemed I was throwing you a "curve-ball".
I had these 2 threads in my mind and ready to go, but there's only so much time to answer other post questions, and maintain earlier threads. I also have to finish 2 stories that I started as well.
However, you are still one of my favorite people who reply to what I post, thanks.
P.S. I am aware, not everyone has the same interests as I do.

^ of course, everyone's tastes differ. But that is the beauty of it, we can enlighten eachother. I never heard of the Prisoner before Mr Kite told me about it, and when he kept telling me about, and I read the tv transcript (becuase there was no youtube for it) and I actually got it for my birthday. And whats more, I showed it to my parents and so it is now a family's favourite! And I am very tempted to do the same with Kolchak. (If I can find it in the stores) I shall forgive you for throwing the curve, but alas, I dont know what it means ;D You are a kind man, Beastie! I like your posts (and replies)! And I thank you for being a good and active member! I shall up your karma

Thanks for the nice words and the Karma. Yes, I'm a fan of both the Prisoner and Kolchak too, I've got the DVD tv series, and the two tv movie pilots for Kolchak. Ask for: "The Night Stalker", when looking for the series, and the two tv pilots should be in one DVD. I still need to get the Prisoner series.
Also, when I was still setting up the threads of Raiders and Godzilla, you posted before I had a chance to finish. And you thought I was fooling you somehow, so I said: "Sorry if it seemed I was throwing you a "CURVE BALL".
A "CURVE-BALL" means: a surprise, or doing something different than normal.

I never thought that you were fooling me!
Anyway, If his name is Henry Jones, how did he become Indiana Jones? And, I take it that Raiders of the Lost Ark is the first Indian Jones movie?

Yes, RAIDERS of the LOST ARK was the first INDIANA JONES movie in the series, followed by 3 sequels. In the third film, INDIANA JONES and the LAST CRUSADE, the origin of Henry Jones II name as "INDIANA", was finally answered. GEORGE LUCUS is the creator, and director of the series, and he wanted to give the main character of the movies, a catchy nickname, much like the comic book and movie heros of the 1930's and 1940's had. So, the name "INDIANA" came from Lucus's dog, but in the third movie, Henry was mentioned that he had a dog named Indiana, and he loved the dog so much, that he used his dog's name, as his own nickname.GEORGE LUCUS is the creator and director, and STEVEN SPEILBERG is the producer.
